Shooting sports on the island
IPSC

IPSC recognizes all the shooting disciplines;

  • Handgun
  • Rifle
  • Shotgun
  • Action Air

IPSC shooters need to blend accuracy, power, and speed into a winning combination. Multiple targets, moving targets, targets that react when hit, penalty targets, or even partially covered targets, obstacles, movement, competitive strategies, and other techniques are all a part of IPSC to keep shooters challenged and spectators engaged.

Trap Shooting

Trap shooting is one of the three major forms of competitive clay pigeon shooting (shotgun shooting at clay targets). There are many versions including Olympic trap, double trap, Down-The-Line, and Nordic trap.

The sport is in some ways a replacement for a game where the targets were live pigeons. Indeed, one of the names for the clay targets used in shooting games is clay pigeons. The layout of modern trap shooting is different from skeet shooting in that there is only one house that releases targets and the shooters move through five different positions.

Skeet Shooting

Skeet shooting is one of the three major types of competitive shotgun target shooting sports. There are several types of skeet, including one with Olympic status (often called Olympic skeet or international skeet), and many with only national recognition.

Skeet is a recreational and competitive activity where participants attempt to break clay disks flung into the air at high speed from a variety of angles.
